Taste Test
Our friends and colleagues tasted 20 different varieties & selections grown in the variety trials at Cottle Farms, Inc. We were pretty ambitious this year!
Field Tour
We loaded up into school buses to explore the Cottle Farms, Inc. trials. We also explored their semi-commercial trials and a commercial plot of GF-Belle. Ron Cottle saved a whole section of Ruby June for us to pick and enjoy in the variety block!
BBQ, Discussion, and Raffle
The grand finale of the day was the BBQ lunch, followed by short talks from Dr. Daisy Ahumada and Dr. Melissa Munoz. Then, Barclay announced the taste test and raffle winners.
Taste Test Methods & Results
Each person was given a taste test card to rate each sample. After lunch, the results were written and displayed on the whiteboard shown below. Unfortunately, we accidentally switched the taste and appearance labels on the whiteboard at the event, but the final corrected data is shown in the graph and table.
